The Department of Sociology and the Sociological Association have understood that the sociology students need guidance and directions on making their career paths and on developing their career. As an attempt to do so, the Department of Sociology and the Sociological Association organized a Career Guidance Program teamed up with the Career Guidance Unit of University of Ruhuna. This program was conducted by Ms Pubudu Mallawaarachchi under the theme “Job prospects for Sociology students” on 12th November 2020. It was held as a lecture on the zoom online platform. Through this program the sociology students had a great opportunity to identify various aspects such as their career aspirations, career opportunities. Ms. Pubudu Mallawaarachchi highlighted the importance of developing their qualifications and skills to find better career opportunities as students of Sociology.
