This program was held on March 19, 2021 at the Faculty of Fisheries and Oceanography and Technology Auditorium under the patronage of Senior Professor Sujeewa Amarasena, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ruhuna.. The program was coordinated by the Department of Sociology. In this lecture, Senior Professor Amarasena/ the Vice chancellor specified on social and scientific background of COVID-19 pandemic situation. The Department of Sociology has conducted several research related to the social impact of COVID-19 pandemic with the collaboration of several national and international institutes.
