Biography:

Palitha Niroshan Rathnayake was born in 1970 in Matara (Sri Lanka). He studied at Rahula College Matara and obtained his first degree BA (specialization in English) with a second class from Sabaragamuwa University in 1999. He joined the University of Ruhuna in 2002 as a staff member of the ELTU. He earned his MA in Linguistics and Master of Philosophy degrees from University of Kelaniya respectively in 2011 and 2017. He became the Head of the Department of English and Linguistics in March 2017. He has research experience in English Language, Applied Linguistics, and English Literature.
