Biography:

P.R. Ekanayake graduated from the University of Ruhuna in 1992, completed MPhil on International Migration in 2003 and submitted her PhD Thesis in Medical Sociology in 2017.

She joined the University of Ruhuna in 1996. Previously she has served as the Head, Department of Sociology, Coordinator, Diploma Course in Community Development conducted by the Dept. of Sociology, University of Ruhuna. Her research areas focus on Medical Sociology and Gender Studies.
