Biography:

Mr. Upul Sanjewa Wijepala is a Lecturer (Probationary) in Sociology at University of Ruhuna. He started his carrier as an Assistant Lecturer in the same University from 2010 to 2013. He obtained his B.A (Special) Degree in Sociology with a Second Class (Upper Division) in 2009. He was awarded a UNESCO Madanjeet Singh Group Scholarship by the South Asia Foundation (2014-2016) and completed P.G Diploma in Rural Development (First Class) and M.A Degree with a first class (Title of the Thesis: Drum less Drummers: A Study on Socio- Economic Mobility of Parayar Caste Community in Eastern Sri Lanka) in 2016. He is currently pursuing his Doctoral Degree in Sociology of Irrigation.
