Biography:

Receiving primary education from Keredeniya Kanishta Vidyalaya and secondary education from Ambagahahena Maha Vidyalaya, Mr. Priyantha entered the University of Ruhuna for his undergraduate studies and completed a special degree in Political Science from the University of Peradeniya. He graduated in 1999 securing a bachelor degree with a first-class honours. He was appointed as an assistant lecturer at the Department of Political Science of the University of Peradeniya. After completing nearly one and a half years of service at Peradeniya University, he joined the Department of Economics of the University of Ruhuna as a probationary lecturer. In 2004, he was awarded a "NORAD” Fellowship to pursue MPhil Degree at the University of Bergen in Norway. Later, the same Department recruited him as a Doctoral Candidate. At present, he works as a Senior Lecturer (Grade I) in Political Science.
